Member and Transient Docking Policy
AYC has a very friendly transient policy, with over 200’ of transient dock space and 30/50 am power along with these spaces we have various slips that become available throughout the year.
The following policies shall govern the short term usage of all dockage.
(Short term is defined as any use other than as a long term lease holder.)
A. Two Full Service slips shall be set aside for short term use and may be reserved as set forth below. (Full Service is defined as having 30/50 Amp Electric Svc. and Domestic Water available.)
1. For the 2010 season these slips are expected to be the face docks at either end of the new floating “A” dock at the Annex.
2. At the discretion of the Waterfront Director, additional Full Service slips may be reserved.
a. Slips that are under long term lease but temporarily vacant.
b. Additional face dockage (such as the pump-out station at “E” dock and the floating “Bulkhead” dock at the Annex).
B. Full Service slips may be reserved by AYC members in good standing and 7 days in advance by members of accredited yacht clubs who maintain reciprocal privileges with AYC or who are members of Chesapeake Bay yacht clubs that enjoy Visiting Yachtsmen privileges with AYC.
1. A stay of more than two nights shall be at the discretion of the Waterfront Director, taking into account demand and the availability of slips.
C. An overnight fee shall be charged for all slip reservations.
1. The rate shall be $1 per foot for AYC members and $2 per foot for non-members.
a. Additionally a fee for electrical hook up shall be charged at a rate of $5.00 per night for 30 amp service and $7 per night for 50 amp service.
2. A yachtsman holding an overnight reservation who has not cancelled the reservation prior to 1500 hours shall be charged for that night.
3. The no-show penalty may be waived at the discretion of the Waterfront Director for conditions such as inclement weather precluding safe passage to AYC.
4. All slips may be reserved by calling the Dockmaster
a. Via landline at 410-320-4304 (dock master duty phone)
b. Via VHF channel 74
c. Via e-mail at dockmaster@annapolisyc.org
D. The remaining dockage at AYC, to include the “L” and “T” docks at the AYC clubhouse, floating docks at the AYC Annex, and the floating dock at the AYC Sailing Center (when released by the Waterfront Director), shall be available on a “first come first served” basis for AYC members and for visiting yachtsmen (as defined above).
1. Dockage at the “L” and “T” docks at the clubhouse cannot be reserved and will be available only on a “first come, first served” basis.
2. Dockage at the Annex and the Sailing Center is available to those using the AYC facilities and may be held, at the discretion of the Waterfront Director, for members dining at AYC who call ahead no earlier than one hour before, and arrive within one hour after, the designated arrival time.
3. This dockage shall normally be used for a period of not more than four hours.
4. Any vessel remaining overnight and beyond 1000 hours the following morning shall be charged at the overnight rate quoted above.
5. Docking is never allowed at any dock or pier displaying a “Reserved – Race Committee” sign.
E. The AYC Waterfront Director may modify the above dockage policies on a case by case basis when unusual or unforeseen conditions arise, such as inclement weather precluding safe passage to or from AYC. |
