A Message from Commodore Bill Torgerson

Dear Fellow Members:

When our former General Manager, Stephen Creese, announced his departure in May of this year, I advised you that the Board had appointed a Search Committee to review both internal and external candidates for the General Manager position.  Since then, the Search Committee has been hard at work.  We considered and interviewed a number of candidates both internally and externally and received much input from members and staff.  With a number of excellent candidates to consider, the decision has been a difficult one.  Our overriding goal has been to put in place a leadership team that will continue, on the current excellent foundation, to carry us forward to even greater success.

The board is pleased to announce its decision to promote Executive Chef Brian Asch to the position of General Manager, effective September 1, 2010.

Over the past several years at the Club, Brian has demonstrated his leadership ability, managerial and financial expertise, work ethic, extensive knowledge of food and beverage operations, understanding of the unique requirements of a club environment, teamwork, and devotion to the membership.  He has been a major factor in bringing member satisfaction to its current outstanding level.  We are confident that he has the ability to apply these demonstrated capabilities to the broader responsibilities of the General Manager position.

The Board commends the entire management team and staff for continuing to deliver outstanding service to the membership during this transition period.  We particularly wish to thank Assistant General Manager Nadine Rockwell for her devotion to the Club as Acting General Manager during this period and we look forward to her help and support going forward.

Please join us in congratulating Brian on his new responsibilities and make every effort to support him and the rest of the team as we move into the future.

Best regards,

Bill Torgerson
Commodore
