Angel Tree Program Brings Joy to All
For the second year in a row, we have, through the help of our members and staff, participated in the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program. This philanthropic program allows the fortunate to donate to families that are less fortunate in order to help make their holiday season brighter.
Between Wednesday, Nov. 11 and Sunday, Dec. 6, members took paper angel ornaments that were detailed with names, ages, and genders of a child or children of a needy family. Upon choosing a gift for their angel, members donated them to be delivered to families in time for Christmas so that these boys and girls will have something special under the tree. Of the 250 angels that decorated our tree, all but 40 were adopted and received donations. These angels were returned to the Salvation Army to be included in other Angel Tree programs.
We thank those of you who were able to donate for your generosity and hope that next year we will be able to donate to all of the angels on our tree. |
