That’s a wrap folks! The Opti Spring Practices are coming to an end for the 2019 Spring Season. It sure has been an exciting Spring Season! We have seen everything from snow flurries at practices with temps around 36 degrees, to tornado warnings, to construction complications (like paving parking lot spaces for our new Activity Center), and finally this week with temps in the mid to upper 80s. Practices included boat handling, long distance race strategies and tactics, starting line techniques, right-of-way rules, roll tacking, and new techniques. Practicing in the tricky current and shifty wind patterns of the Severn River and sailing out into the middle of the Chesapeake Bay with large waves and chop helped prepare our sailors for the 2019 Summer Sailing Season!
