Key School sailed a great regatta at the MASSA Gold Fleet Championships. St. Mary’s College of Maryland hosted eighteen competitive teams, and Key held their own in a tough fleet and challenging conditions. Saturday was light and shifty, and after a postponement there were four races. We started racing at around 9:30 am on Sunday and completed eight races. The wind was very shifty and puffy, with some 20 knot gusts. Key did a great job of staying focused and mentally tough through a long day of racing. Charles and Emma even placed second in one of their races. Each team member worked hard and contributed to a successful finish. After a rainy and chilly day, the Key team ended up thirteenth in a very competitive fleet. Thanks to St. Mary’s for hosting a great regatta.
