High School Sailing: Maryland State Championship

This past weekend, four of the AYC high school teams participated in the Maryland State Championship hosted by AYC and SSA. The one day event took place on Saturday and had an oscillating breeze throughout the event. The Race Committee did a great job finding the wind direction mean and got eight races off for the 15 teams in attendance. AYC’s St. Mary’s High School had a respectable second place finish behind Severn, separated by four points, with AYC’s Severna Park in fourth, Key School in sixth, and Annapolis High School in eighth.

Congratulations to Annapolis High School, Indian Creek, and Severna Park on a great high school season!

Coming up, Key School and St. Mary’s compete in the MASSA Keelboat Qualifiers held at AYC this weekend!
