EYC’s Boomerang Regatta – What a Beautiful Night!

Linda Ambrose, Regatta Manager

There’s nothing better than being out on the water with breeze on a hot summer’s night. EYC’s Boomerang Regatta begins and ends outside of Annapolis Harbor with boats sailing a fixed marks course scheduled in the Sailing Instructions to be anywhere from the shortest distance at 27.6NM to the longest at 56.3NM. Open to handicap classes, one design fleets, and multihulls, the 2019 event had 61 competitors on Saturday evening with the faster boats sailing the medium course and the slower boats completing the short course.

There are lots of familiar AYC names on the 2019 Boomerang Regatta Cumulative Results page including 1st place in the J/35 class, Bruce Artman on T-Bone. In the J/105s, 2nd and 3rd place trophies went to Cedric Lewis/Fredrik Salvesen’s team on Mirage, followed by Andrew Kennedy/Warren Richter on Bat IV. Congratulations to Peter Henry on Mischief with a 1st place win in the CRCA ORRez Racer Cruiser class. In PHRF A0/A1, Jim Connelly’s Slush Fund and Ben Capuco’s ZUUL in 1st and 3rd respectively.
