This past weekend, U.S. Sailing's Champion of Champions event was sailed on provided Ideal 18s at Stamford Yacht Club. The criteria to receive an invitation to attend the event is set quite high. The one-design class represented by each competing sailor must be a current member of US Sailing at the time of application. The applicant must be a 2018 or 2019 one-design class U.S. National Champion, North American Champion, or World Champion helmsperson. The Competitor List of one design champions is quite impressive. Crewing for the Lido Class National Champion, Christopher Raab, Geoff Ewenson and Raab were on the podium to accept the 3rd place trophy after 13 races in a competition against 19 other top teams from around the country. Quite a few of the competitors on the Results List you’ll recognize having competed in various classes at AYC-hosted regattas over the years.
