Linda Ambrose, Regatta Manager
Over the weekend, AYC members journeyed to Harbor Springs, MI, to compete in the J/70 Class Corinthian National Championship. The event drew competitors from as far away as California, Virginia, New York, and Canada to compete in one of the most welcoming sailing venues. Hosted by Little Traverse Yacht Club and sailed on Lake Michigan, the event is a standout on the class calendar as all sailors must be a World Sailing Group 1 competitor, meaning none aboard including the Skipper may be industry professionals.
With a total of 8 races on the board, Peter Bowe’s Tea Dance Snake had a top 10 finish with 52 points, putting them in 8th place overall. In 13th out of 36th competitors, Pete Firey and crew on Phoenix. Bowe had just taken top honors at the AYC Annual Regatta in late July with Firey in 5th place. 2019 J/70 Corinthian National Championship Results. |
