J/70s & Stars Wrap Up Winter Series 
Congratulations to those who competed and placed in the Quantum J/70 Winter Series and 2017-18 Miami Star Mid-Winter Series, including Brian Keane, Ron Weed, Peter Bowe, Bobby Lippincott, and Shane Zwingelberg.

AYC Staff & Members Attend Leadership Conference 
With the recurring theme of "Connect-Discover-Grow" ever present, AYC had a strong showing at the 2018 US Sailing Leadership Forum in St. Pete Beach, Florida this past week.
J/22s Available for Worlds & Summer Race Series 
As the competitor list begins to grow, we want to see as many AYC members on the water for the 2018 J/22 World Championship as possible, so we’re making the Club boats available for the event. Over the winter we’ll be upgrading the standing and running rigging, replacing hardware, and making sure the boats are class legal for regatta inspections.

Frostbite sailing on the Chesapeake Bay: Where even the ice isn't a breaker 
The Annapolis Yacht Club’s frostbite series grew to 95 boats five years ago and has held steady since. With temperatures hovering in the 30s, frostbiters say, winter is the ideal time to get out on the water.

2018 J/22 Worlds Update 
With the event 8 months away there are already 24 competitors from the US and Canada registered with a long list of international competitors vying for charter boats as they become available. AYC’s 7 J/22s will be available for charter on a first come, first served basis beginning on February 1st.
2018 Master Driver Team Race Results 
Six team racers traveled to St. Petersburg YC for the Master Driver Team Race held over the weekend of January 12-14, 2018.
Time to Gear Up for Frostbite Second Half 
While the January warm up may have you thinking about Wednesday Night Races there’s still plenty of Frostbiting to go around. The second half starts up on Super Bowl Sunday, February 4th so take another look at the Sailing Instructions as the finish line moves to City Dock for the balance of the Series.

Dick Neville Named Race Officer for St. Thomas International Regatta 
AYC member Dick Neville has been named Race Officer for the St. Thomas International Regatta, starting March 22 from the St. Thomas Yacht Club in the Caribbean.
Orange Bowl Starts Today in Sunny Florida 
The Orange Bowl International Youth Regatta for Optimists and c420s runs through Saturday, December 30, at Coral Reef Yacht Club in Miami! 25 sailors representing AYC are competing in the Orange Bowl.
Askews & Larson - 628NM to Hobart 
Pundits predict that fleet leaders in the annual Sydney to Hobart ocean race should be in Hobart in less than two days. Member David Askew and brother Peter have Chris Larson aboard calling tactics on Wizard, their recently acquired RP74.

Fuentes Success in Etchells Winter Series Kick Off 
Jose Fuentes and his crew on Caramba landed in 3rd place overall in the Louis Piana Cup during the first weekend of the Etchells Biscayne Bay.
J/70s at Davis Island Yacht Club
