Don Backe Memorial CRAB Regatta 
The weather conditions this past Saturday were excellent for the 27th CRAB Regatta with winds in the 5-15 knot range and higher gusts in the afternoon. Five races were completed starting at the Clubhouse and going to drop marks near the end of the Naval Academy seawall and over to Horn Point.
37th Biennial Annapolis to Newport Race – One For the Books 
It was one for the books with a dismasting, two boats with minor electrical fires, multiple entries dropping out due to seasickness, a double-handed entry winning its start against fully crewed boats, and a new location for the awards party and trophy presentation.

La Defonce Presented with C. Gaither Scott Trophy for Corinthian Spirit 
La Defonce was presented with the C. Gaither Scott Trophy for Corinthian Spirit during the Annapolis-to-Newport Race prize-giving ceremony, held Wednesday night At the Deck of Waites Wharf.

Phantom Captures Line Honors Among Saturday Starters 
Phantom, an XP 44 skippered by Chris Schoen, sailed an impressive race and cleaned up as a result. Phantom captured line honors among Saturday starters and placed first overall among the 19 boats racing under the ORC rating rule.

History made as double-handed team takes line honors for Annapolis-to-Newport Race 
Gavignet and Givry became the first double-handed team in Annapolis-to-Newport Race history to capture line honors. They were both on deck when La Defonce, a Beneteau-designed Figaro 3, crossed the line off Castle Hill Light at 9:38 Monday morning.

Annapolis to Newport Start Reports 
Picture-perfect conditions greeted the Friday fleet of starters for the 2019 Annapolis-to-Newport Race, which got underway at 11 a.m. on the Chesapeake Bay.

Leukemia Cup - One and Done! 
With better breeze than expected, the Race Committees from all participating Yacht Clubs or Sailing Associations knocked out one race for their competitors and sent everyone back to shore to prep for the Rock the Dock party at EYC.

The countdown clock on the website seems to move faster once we get within a few weeks of departure for the 475NM race from Annapolis to Newport.
Inaugural Annapolis YC 3-2-1 Chesapeake Challenge a Resounding Success 
The first running of the Annapolis YC 3-2-1 Chesapeake Challenge started with light winds on Saturday but finished on Sunday with postcard weather conditions and a lot of happy competitors.
Sailing For A Cause - Leukemia Cup 
The next weekend event for the Race Committee is one near and dear to the hearts of many members, Leukemia Cup. Annapolis is where it all began in 1992, and since then over $66 million has been raised around the country.
Going Green at AYC Regattas 
During the NOOD regatta, Eco SAILS volunteers served as Recycling Ambassadors, guiding party-goers on re-using their drink cups, using the new containers for recycling, and pointing racers to the water bottle refill station, helping reduce the need for single-use plastic bottles.

Spring Race to Oxford - Second Time's a Charm 
The 2019 Spring Race to Oxford sponsored by The Hinckley Company went off without a hitch with close to 60 competitors spread over 8 classes.

World Sailing has added a mixed double handed offshore event to the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. This exciting addition will take place near Marseille and will continue with the 2028 Summer Games in Los Angeles.
