AYC Brings Corinthian Cup Home 
With the best Annapolis conditions to date for the SFYC/AYC Corinthian Cup, AYC’s Open and Junior teams had a stellar performance on the water in the annual “friendly” competition with San Francisco Yacht Club.

Interclub Racing Event Comes to AYC 
The inaugural Annapolis 3-2-1 Invitational is a couple of weeks away and members of the Adult Interclub Race Committee are hard at work prepping all aspects of this new regatta.
Kick Off to AYC's Fall Regatta Schedule 
With the temps still in the 90s and two more WNRs to go, it’s hard to believe that the official kick off for fall racing starts on August 31 with the first day of the Annapolis Labor Day Regatta.
J/111 Worlds in Chicago 
The J/111 World Championship kicks off today with 23 competitors, including AYC members Jim Connelly on Slush Fund and Marty Roesch’s Velocity. In 2020 AYC will play host to the class for their North American Championship.
RC Boats are Back in the Basin 
After a great kick off event earlier in the summer, the first fall “messing around in boats” event will take place in the basin at the Sailing Center tomorrow evening, August 20, from 5-7 pm.

TAYC Hosts Race to Oxford 
Known as “Summer Oxford” to many, our friends on the Eastern Shore hosted the Race to Oxford on Friday afternoon which kicked off in very shifty conditions.
Askew’s Wizard Wins Fastnet Race 
Adding to their already impressive list of podium finishes around the globe, David Askew and brother Peter can now add Overall Winner of the 2019 Fastnet Race. The boat and crew posted an amazing performance in a year when many speed records were broken in this event.
Bowe and Firey in J/70 Top 20 
Over the weekend, AYC members journeyed to Harbor Springs, MI, to compete in the J/70 Class Corinthian National Championship. The event drew competitors from as far away as California, Virginia, New York, and Canada to compete in one of the most welcoming sailing venues.

Long Distance Double-handed Race 
Racing sailboats across a long distance has inspired generations of sailors. The Annapolis Yacht Club announces a new 24-hour race for double-handed crews to start on Saturday, September 28, 2019 off the entrance to the Severn River.

New Format Success for Annual Regatta 
The 83rd AYC Annual Regatta took place over the weekend with a two-day, multi circle format that offered a River Course for Alerion 28s, Cal 25s, and Harbor 20s, and a Bay Course for J/22s, J/30s, J/70s, and J/80s.

New York Yacht Club Celebrates Major Milestone with Regatta 
To celebrate the 175th anniversary of its founding in 1844, NYYC hosted a regatta at their Harbour Court Clubhouse in Newport. A number of members were on the water during the week-long event, many of whom are also members of New York Yacht Club.
A New Olympic Discipline with an AYC Twist 
The newest event on the club’s racing calendar has quite a bit of buzz behind it, which was clear to the organizers when over 75 sailors from around town attended a seminar hosted by the Events Committee on June 25 at the Sailing Center.

12 Metre Worlds Champion Includes Past AYC Jr. Sailor 
With a spectacular array of vintage and modern versions of this classic yacht, the 12 Metre Worlds wrapped up in Newport this weekend, with long time junior program participant Porter Kavle on board contributing to the strategy team.
AYC Hosts Competitor Party for Labor Day Regatta 
After hosting the Awards party in temporary quarters for two years in a row, we are back on track with the opening of the Sailing Center, with the Competitors Party taking place at AYC on Saturday, August 31.
EYC’s Boomerang Regatta – What a Beautiful Night! 
There’s nothing better than being out on the water with breeze on a hot summer’s night. EYC’s Boomerang Regatta begins and ends outside of Annapolis Harbor.

Jimmy Buffett and P/C McNeil Winners at Block Island Race Week 
We’re not sure whose performance was more memorable, but hats off to the crew of Seabiscuit, P/C Kevin and Amanda McNeil’s Farr 30, who won a hard fought battle in PHRF 2.
AYC Women's Team at American Yacht Club for the WITR 
This past weekend the AYC women’s team headed up to American Yacht Club in Rye, NY, for the Women’s Invitational Team Race regatta.
Etchells World Championship 
Thirty seven Etchells came to Corpus Christi, Texas, this week to race in near-perfect winds for the World Championship, including AYC’s own Jose Fuentes.
Two Day Schedule for AYC Annual Regatta 
After looking over the past few years of entries and taking input from competitors on the format, the Sailing Committee decided to change things up a bit and offer both windward leeward courses as well as a distance race with drop and government marks over a period of two days.
